About the Department The Lifelong Learning department delivers high-quality, accessible educational programs that empower adults to pursue personal growth, maintain cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being, and engage in meaningful community connection. Through in-person and virtual offerings, we foster a culture of lifelong learning that strengthens individual vitality and contributes to the overall health and resilience of our community. General Responsibilities The Lifelong Learning department is seeking passionate and dedicated instructors to lead engaging, hands-on courses for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students build confidence, independence, and practical life skills in areas such as social skills, daily living, vocational skills, financial literacy, personal safety, and more. The instructor will create a welcoming and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, celebrates achievements, and fosters a sense of community. The instructor will adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse abilities, learning styles, and needs of adult learners. They will monitor student progress, provide individualized support and feedback, and implement accommodations to ensure every student can succeed. In addition, the instructor will collaborate with Lifelong Learning staff on curriculum planning, course development, and professional growth opportunities, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive educational program. |

| Job Requirements | PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
